The GALERIA Kaufhof Group currently employs 21,500 people and operates 100 department stores in Germany, 60 DINEA restaurants and 14 sport department stores as well as 16 department stores in Belgium. Around two million people visit the branches of the company daily, which makes it one of the leading warehouse companies in Europe. A total net sales of approx. EUR 3.1 billion were achieved in 2013/14.

Project Description

Galeria Kaufhof offers its services to its customers on a multi-channel basis. To further strengthen the e-commerce division, the company has developed an online platform itself, in 2015. The highly efficient platform provides the technological basis for the strong growing online business and for the sustainable positioning of Galeria Kaufhof as a multichannel warehouse, emphasizes Klaus Hellmich, Managing Director of Multichannel Retailing, organization and informatics at GALERIA Kaufhof GmbH. In close collaboration with CareerTeam, an agile team of product managers, developers, designers, UX and platform specialists was established. Particular attention has been paid to the fact that all candidates have not only gained experience in an innovative and agile environment, but are also able to perform well in group structures. The agile development allows Galeria Kaufhof to work in parallel with various development teams and thus can quickly implement new applications. Also, it is one of the core competencies to quickly advance multichannel developments and services.
